What it Means to be a ‘Best Place to Work’ – with TJ Vissing

TJ Vissing reflects on OMS being named one of Cincinnati’s Best Places to Work at last week’s Business Courier Celebration.

“At OMS Photography, we walk a thin line between creativity and productivity. We live in a subjective reality that can be hard to navigate. Ultimately we are a service business that must meet our clients expectations to keep the ship afloat. Given that perspective we have realized over the last 30 years, it is essential that we craft a work environment that allows our creative team to fly high and land safely.

We encourage creative exploration infused with collective collaboration. We have learned that when we blend the creative capacity of all of our people we allow for each of us to rise higher than we could on our own. This doesn’t stop with image generation, which is our end product, but includes multiple disciplines that must work together to achieve the desired goal. It is similar to right and  left brain thinking to reach a balance that keeps things seamless.

We also take the time to get together and share our personal creative work. The inspiration that permeates the atmosphere reaches everyone in the studio. One of our biggest challenges is staying inspired. Inspiration can come from the most unexpected places, and often comes as a surprise. When we blend all of the influences from the multiple talents that surround us, we often see new ideas and new levels of fascination with our potential.”
