Sit Back and Enjoy a Year in Review with Cinematographer, Josh Bray

It’s been an awesome year for OMS Cinematographer Josh Bray, both personally and professionally. This year, Josh and his wife made the exciting move to Denver, CO, where he now works out of the OMS Golden Studio. Don’t worry, Josh remains deeply connected to his Midwest roots, frequently traveling back to Cincinnati to collaborate with his clients.

Professionally, Josh has had the opportunity to work with incredible new clients while continuing to strengthen his partnerships with familiar ones. His creative vision and storytelling expertise have brought fresh energy to a variety of projects.

We’re proud to showcase some of Josh’s standout client video work from this year—check out his top 10 picks below to see the magic he brings to every frame:

  1. Naked & Thriving

Josh has been partnering with Naked & Thriving for several years, playing a pivotal role in developing their distinctive video style and creative approach. For his recap, Josh selected this standout video to highlight the collaboration between himself, Paul Lanterman (OMS Creative Tech), and TJ Vissing (OMS Photographer and owner).

One of the most exciting aspects of this project was the custom water set designed and built by Paul and TJ. Reflecting on the experience, Josh shared, “Water has been a big focus this year, especially with the in-house rigging Paul perfected. Capturing it in slow motion with such precision never gets old—it’s always an exhilarating challenge.”

2. Annex Brands

Josh collaborated with the team at Annex Brands to bring several of their unique brand stories to life. For this project, Josh focused on creating clean, elegant visuals, leveraging the simplicity of dolly and tracking shots to let the narrative take center stage. The result is a timeless and approachable style that beautifully underscores the essence of each story.

Reflecting on the experience, Josh shared his appreciation for the entire process, from the supportive client and talented crew to the incredible on-screen talent. “It was a seamless collaboration that made the storytelling effortless and enjoyable,” he said.

3. Comfort Flex Pro for Cintas

The Comfort Flex Pro project for Cintas was an exciting challenge for Josh and the OMS/Cintas team. This spot is packed with creative elements that showcase the product dynamically and engagingly.

One of the highlights for Josh was the seamless transition into 3D animation, which brought the garment to life. The animation was expertly crafted by TJ Cianciolo, one of Josh’s longtime friends and a trusted freelancer. The transition back to the hero framing at the end created a cohesive and impactful visual flow.

Josh also appreciated the industrial aesthetic of the shoot, complete with smoke elements that enhanced the authentic workplace vibe.

4. ESPN Super Bowl Rings

For over five years, OMS has had the privilege of partnering with ESPN and the Pro Football Hall of Fame on a project that never fails to excite. Josh affectionately refers to it as “The OMS Heist”—a playful nod to the high-stakes nature of borrowing a Super Bowl ring, shooting it overnight, and returning it first thing the next morning. While the timeline is tight, the OMS team’s years of experience make this high-pressure production feel seamless.

This particular sequence was a collaboration between Josh and Paul Lanterman. Together, they created a mesmerizing visual of rings falling in the background, precisely match-cutting on their rotations. To achieve this, the team utilized OMS’s in-house SISU Robot Arm for intricate camera movement, with the final magic perfected in post-production.

5. Open Farm

Open Farm joined the OMS client family this year, bringing a creative challenge that Josh and the team were eager to tackle. Their goal was to produce a captivating brand video (a snippet of which is showcased above) highlighting their premium dog food. One key moment they wanted to emphasize was the interaction between kibble and bone broth—a visual representation of the product’s quality and craftsmanship.

To achieve this, Josh and Paul Lanterman designed a custom rig to capture the precise moment when kibble hit the broth, rotating around the set for a dynamic effect. Josh described the result as a “fun parallax with mesmerizing liquid slow-motion,” perfectly showcasing the brand’s attention to detail and premium ingredients.

6. Wings & Rings

The Wings & Rings project was a standout for the OMS team, blending creativity, collaboration, and a lot of patience. This shoot brought together some of OMS’s favorite collaborators, including freelance food stylist and friend Melissa Mileto, whose expertise added a mouthwatering touch to every frame.

One of the most memorable moments was capturing the iconic wing sauce flip. Due to the human element involved, it took around 50 takes to nail the perfect shot, but Josh noted that every attempt was worth it. The final result perfectly captured the energy and appeal of the brand, making the effort behind the scenes a true labor of love.

7. Cintas Chef Works

In this project with Cintas, the focus was on their restaurant-oriented business offerings, and the resulting video brought their brand to life in an authentic and engaging way. While the entire sequence was beautifully crafted, Josh’s favorite moments were shot in the kitchen—a setting that resonates deeply with him as a cooking enthusiast.

“The kitchen is my favorite place to be,” Josh shared, reflecting on how the environment inspired him throughout the shoot. These shots captured the heart of the culinary world, blending artistry with precision to showcase the brand’s offerings.

A special shoutout goes to Dave Hart for his exceptional food styling, which added a layer of delicious realism to the visuals.

8. Chocolate Bar Custom Rig

This project featured a custom rig that Paul Lanterman meticulously designed and perfected over the course of a year. The complexity of the rig was matched only by its seamless functionality once completed, allowing the team to capture truly breathtaking shots.

Josh was particularly impressed by the craftsmanship and ingenuity behind the rig, noting that his mind was “blown” when he saw the final shot in action. The combination of technical precision and creative vision brought the chocolate bar to life in a way that exceeded expectations.

Kudos to Paul and the entire team for their dedication and innovation on this project—it’s a perfect example of how thoughtful engineering can elevate storytelling to a whole new level.

9. SToK Cold Brew Coffee

This SToK Cold Brew Coffee project was a collaborative effort between Josh and Brent Taylor, showcasing their expertise in creating visually striking product shots. Together, they executed a turntable sequence that beautifully highlighted the three SToK Cold Brew products as a cohesive family.

Josh particularly appreciated the shot for its ability to showcase the products’ unity while also featuring enticing details like the drips. These drips were meticulously refined in post-production by OMS’s in-house retoucher and Golden Studio member, Will Reblando. Editing out the turntable’s reflection was a challenging but crucial step in achieving the polished final result.

10. Oikos

To wrap up, Josh is excited to spotlight one of his recent projects for Oikos Yogurt. Reflecting on the creative approach, Josh admitted his initial thought was, “How do you make yogurt sexy?” The answer? Dim the lights, create a mood, and pair the visuals with a playful and alluring soundtrack.

While the final product may not scream “sexy,” it’s a fantastic showcase of Oikos Yogurt’s rich flavors, creamy textures, and premium quality. The project highlights Josh’s knack for transforming everyday products into captivating visual stories that connect with audiences in fresh and unexpected ways.

We can’t wait for another year of creativity and to see what else Josh and the team will make. To check out more of OMS’s video work click here.
