Brent Taylor Reflects on Golden Studio Growth

We sat down with OMS photographer and Golden Studio lead Brent Taylor to discuss the studio’s recent growth and success.

It feels like just yesterday I was covered in sawdust and paint, spending my days more like a construction worker than a photographer. In 2020, I was racing to build our Golden, Colorado photo studio, hoping to be ready to hit the ground running once COVID restrictions were lifted. None of us knew what the world of photo production would look like in the post-pandemic landscape, but we had high hopes of being well-prepared when the time came.

It’s hard to believe that almost five years have passed since then, and so much has happened in that time. Life moves quickly when you’re busy, but every now and then, it’s important to stop and reflect on the growth we’ve experienced. In particular, two recent additions to our Golden studio: Josh Bray and Will Reblando. These two have been nothing short of amazing, bringing both immense talent and positive energy to our team.

Josh and Will joined me at the Golden studio just over a month ago, transferring from our main location in Cincinnati, Ohio. The OMS crew in Cincy is truly among the best in the industry, and Josh and Will are no exception!

Josh came on board with OMS in 2021 as our lead cinematographer and editor. He brought with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in video production and editing, seamlessly integrating into our creative team alongside our photographers. As more of our clients request video elements in addition to standard photo shoots, having Josh here in Colorado will be a game changer. His skill set, professionalism, and creativity allow him to bring our clients’ visions to life through film.

Will also joined the OMS family in 2022, initially as a retoucher. But it didn’t take long for everyone to realize that Will is capable of just about anything. He’s become indispensable for all things tech-related such as retouching, illustration, color grading, and 3D artistry. On top of all that, he’s an Adobe wizard, automating processes with backend scripting magic that leaves us all in awe.

I’m excited to have Josh and Will on board out here in Colorado. I can’t wait to see where their talents take us in the coming years. If you’re ever in the studio, be sure to say hello and pick their brains—you won’t be disappointed.

Full steam ahead!
